Rod weights?
So i got a new frog rod for xmas and with my reel on it feels a little unbalanced i have my carbonlite on the rod. It feels great and was thinking of getting rod weights for the butt. Anyone use them?

I haven't used the balancing kits you buy, but I have used the rubber chair leg caps you can buy at a hardware store and added metal washers inside the rubber cap until the balance was right then I taped it on the bott of the rod.

Like Kory said, I have used the rubber chair leg bottoms that you can get at your local hardware store, less than a buck a piece. I put around 2-4 quarters in the cap until I get the desired balance. I don't use any now on my casting combos (carbonlite rod and reels), but had to use one on my Quantum Superlites to get the desired balance. Plus, If your fishing and need some change for pop, or snacks the quarters come in handy!

I have one of these that I used to use on a tip heavy rod. I liked it just fine for that one particular rod. It had a full cork grip so it wasn't too obtrusive. It would be too big to use on a split grip though, imo.

The BPS kit is basically the same thing as the chair leg caps. This is the easiest and least permanent solution.
