The TDX was born with the TDS series reels back in abut 1990.It replaced the TD1 and TD2 reel series. The TDX was specifically designed for fishing braided lines. The braid does not bind on a TDX like the older TD1 and TD2 will.TheTDX are being phased out and if you look you can find them $149.99 at bass pro shop, regularly $199.99.

The TDX is as good of a Daiwa as you will ever find. They have a magnetic cast control that works extremely well.the 7 disc washer drag system is extremely smooth. The TDX will perform day in and day out ,year after year.I have had them for several years with zero problems. The only thing is the exterior finish will wear a bit over the line pawl assembly. Not real bad but noticable for the care I had given them.

You will not find a better reel for $149.99. P N J
