Powerbass, I agree that sorting by type is the way to go.
To scale down, I have purchased 4 tackle boxes that stay at home. They are organized by cranks, topwaters, jerkbaits, and jigs/hairjigs. In the top part of the boxes, I keep plastics. One box has worms, another has tubes, another has creature baits/grubs, and the fourth is flukes/miscellaneous. What I do is pick some stuff from each box and load into a tackle bag and a half (the half bag must have room for raingear, suntan lotion, flashlights, and some stogies). This is all I take. It is still a lot but I know if I scale down some more, I will always leave what I need at home. |
