How come...?
**** Caution - Rant is following ****
Why is it every time I give the tax man a beating and start to happily plan my dance with the bait monkey the car repair elephant stomps my arse????? Last year I needed a new fuel pump and this year I have a blown head gasket . Thought I was going to pay off the boat, pick up a frog rod and Revo winch, and upgrade some pumps in the boat. Also had my eye on a sonar unit but..... |

Tell me about it. The way things are going now, my trip in May is close to getting cancelled. Im down to 1 job, the wife has been layed off. Just lost 2 incomes in 1 month. Anybody got winning lotto numbers or powerball numbers. Im seriously thinking about putting the motorcycle for sale.

I'll just have to put off getting a second vehicle for 6 months or so. Thought I'd have the boat paid off before fishing this spring. Considering what others are dealing with I'd have to say I'm lucky that this is my only problem.

Called Murphy's Law brothers. Sorry for the turn of events. I'm sure mine is waiting right around the corner. But I still pray and am thankful for the many belssings I already have.

That is Mr. Murphy.
Personally, I make it a point to kick murphy in the balls every chance I get. I try to do my own work on my truck. A new headgasket is a doable repair. If you want to save some of that money, cause most of what you pay the man will be labor, you might ought to research DIY.

You got that right WTL. And if you don't know, it's always good to have a friend that is a mechanic, and 1 that is a carpenter. They might not be able to save you on your insurance, but they can help you out tremendously. Just don't use them, they don't like that. LOL

Yep, fuel pump was in the tank.
I've done repairs on vehicles in the past but I had a neighbor who used to run the shop for the Amtrak fleet of cars, 600 or so, help me with them. He also won NHRA races back in the day. Don't have that anymore. The mechanic I use is very good and keeps the hours down to a minimum and only charges for actual repairs and not time screwing around looking for the problem like other mechanics I've run into (plus I helped his son out with a MRSA infection too). I also don't have the time, equipment, and location to do the repairs. It's cold and wet outside today with snow, rain, and ice coming down. Murphy decided to gang up on me this week . My folks came for a visit the other day and wanted to help me around the house. Needed to do a little painting so they volunteered to do it. My old man lost his balance and knocked over a bookshelf with a full gallon of paint on to the couch. He's alright, the couch was stain proof and the paint washed out, but I lost 6 or so autographed books. |

But there's one thing I know
The blues they send to meet me won't defeat me It won't be long till happiness steps up to greet me Raindrops keep fallin' on my head But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red Cryin's not for me 'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin' Because I'm free Nothin's worryin' me Capt Mike

Just found out today that both, that's right both, cylinder heads have cracks in them. Shipping in two from CA to replace them. Will get here later this week. Just a couple more days with the rental car. Good thing I've been putting in extra time at work. Got a couple games tonight that pay extra.
Oh well, it's only money....... |
