Went fishing this morning for a few hours.
Very disappointed with the best fish of the day. Looked huge until I got her in the boat. 23 inches long but only weighed 4 pounds 6 ounces. Huge head so I assume just under nourished. I boated about 16 in less than 4 hours. Filleted 4 for dinner tomorrow night. My cousin asks me to keep every bass under 4 pounds.

That IS one skinny bass! But you still had the enjoyment of catching her and the others. All in all, a pretty good day bud. Glad you got out and had some fun.

I think that one knew she was on the way out the door and was just doing herself in biting the hook. We catch some fish like that sometimes in late August and September coming off the dog days when their movement has been limited in real hot water for a couple of months. She might of had a hook in her belly too or just some kind of stress.

I have caught a few like that where the body did not match the size of the head or the body length.

I may need to spend a day using ultralight equipment, although the little ones are aggressive on any bait.

So you think taking all her boyfriends away, and BAM! She'll be cured of her eating disorder?
