Default frog problems

i went to gander mt yesturday and picked me up some white sizmic toads and my first package of 40lb power pro to throw them on......my problem was i having trouble keeping my frog running right.....it would either run upside down or the legs wouldn't kick right or it would roll........i would using a 5/0 hook....i had it hook in the dead center of the bait.....so any tips would be helpful...thanks weidner21

Welcome to the board. This question has been asked a few times already so you might find the answers looking up old posts. One thing that makes the roll is the hook acting like a keel hitting weeds and pads causing the roll. Maybe you are reeling it in too fast causing the improper action.

you might want to downsize to a 3/0 or 4/0. 5/0 is a little on the large size for the sismic.

I use Sizmics and I've had problems with it rolling over. The best piece of advice I've seen is to rig it with an arch in it, that is, the Toad is a little convex on the bottom and concave on top. This seems to keep them running with the hook point up.

For keeping them running with the hook point up, I'm using this hook: works very well! JUST LEARNED HERE

A few company's make lures like this, including the mann's ghost. Never used them, but have friends who use them and have caught fish on them.
