I know idea nothing about. Just read the link I put for info on it. It is a good reel I am just not very good at baitcasting I have tried many baitcaster's and this one was the best so....
Also if you think the price is to high I am sure we could work something out. |

I'm thinking it might be a good reel to throw plastics on, and maybe crappie fish with.
So you would reel with the left hand right? What gear ratio is it? |

yes you would reel with your left hand it is quite easy to adapt to really because I am right handed but I reel with my left. The gear ratio is 6.4:1

I was thinking it would be easier to use a lefty reel, as you don't have to switch hands. There are different gear ratios, it should say the ratio on the side of the reel (like 4.3:1). I need to know, because when fishing plastics, I like a slower reel.

Let me get this straight. You are getting rid of it because you aren't that good with it. Would you sell your boat if you weren't that good at catching fish out of it? Just wondering. The way to get good with something is to practice, I'm sure that everyone else on here would agree with me on that too.
I'm sure you wonder what the guys on here do on days that they can't fish, well when I can't be out on the lake I am out in the yard casting, practicing to get a better cast. I couldn't cast a baitcaster worth a crap until I started practicing with it. Heck, I now have my 7 year old casting with a baitcaster because I make him practice almost everyday that he isn't on the lake with me. It is up to you if you want to sell it, but don't let something go and lose money on it just because you aren't good with it. Oh, and just because someone tells you the price on something is too high is no reason to drop the price. The matter isn't how much someone else thinks it is worth, it is how much that item is worth to you.

Well, your right but I alway's get tangled with it so I lose line every time I go out. and I have spent over $100 on line for it and I am getting sick of it. Plus if I want to get good there is a very expensive one my dad has that I can use.

you gotta adjust the spool tension..an easy way to adjust it that works for me is to tie the lure on..and loosen it enough so the lure slowly falls to the ground without backlashing..dont give up on it...

When I loosen the spool tension is when I get tangled.

Keep the tension tight until you get the hang of it. What you have to do is start out with high tension until you can get a good cast, then slowly loosen the tension one fraction of an inch, or one number at a time. What I used to do was keep my thumb in contact with the spool while casting. What causes backlashes most of the time for me is the lure hits the water prematurely, causing the spool to keep turning while the lure isn't pulling the line out. If you keep your thumb slightly touching the spool, then if it does backlash it isn't that bad, plus your thumb is already on the spool and doesn't take that much effort to stop it.
Believe me when I say this: Nobody on here was born with the ability to use a baitcaster. We all had to learn at one point and time and we all have had backlashes before. I got discouraged like this on my first one, but I knew it only takes practice.

May i suggest you buy some of the cheap line until you get the hang of it. It may not be the best line, but it will catch fish and if you have to peel some off you won't be hurting much. oh yeah, if you learn to pick those bird's nests out of your baitcaster you will be the envy of all your friends. LOL I know I am. I haven't peeled line off in over 2 years because I learned how to pick those birds nests out.

It should slowly fall to the ground and touch gently. Then, while you're leaning, get it to there and tighten a crank or two.

not move, JB told me to ajust the spool so that when you jig the rod tip the lure falls about ten inches.
