Default a reminder

while i was fishing a crank bait this morning i caught a limb and was dragging it to the boat when the crankbait let go of the limb and nailed me square in the shoulder.. so ensuded the cuss words.. when you are bringing something like a limb in make you do it with the rod to the side..

i have a bruise as big as a grape fruit on my shoulder....

Good tip. With todays hooks being so sharp you have to be extra careful because they will penetrate the skin rather easily.

Last year, I got a spinnerbait hung on a cattail...pulled it free and it came rocketing at me and hit me square in the ankle bone. I almost fell in the drink!

LMAO! I don't know why I did this, but I was bored and I was swinging a rattle trap around! LMAO! And the hook went straight into my thumb! Luckily, it hit the base of my nail and it didn't go through my finger. What an idiot!

When i fish my grandads noodles, which is ALL the time, i get them in the face, arm, legs, chest, etc. They are fished so close to the surface that when you miss a hookset the come flying. I would say I get hit with at least 20 of them a year. Luckily the hooks arent very big, and I always wear glasses.
Does anyone else do this.... When I notice a bait of mine flying at my body fast, I just flex my stomach and chest and brace for it haha. almost like a mideival game.

Never had that happen to ME, but I accidentally did it to my friend... Oops, well, we got the hook out in a few minutes, and I had to apply some cattail poultice to the wound. It was really bloody...

A few years ago, my son and I where out on the water when I got my texas rig caught up on shore in some rocks. I held the pole sideways and gave the line a good yank, the bullet sinker hit my son smack dab in the middle of the stomach. Moral of the story, make sure no one's in line with incoming from any direction. I had to hear about how dad shot him in the stomach for days.....

ahh the memories that this thread brings back up...

last year i was fishing with FF and it was one of those days where nothing went right. After no fish for about 30 minutes, i hook one but it jumps and throws the rattletrap into FFs ear, luckily not deep and was easy to get out. Then, FF is being retarded and gets his finder stuck between the line guide and the side of his baitcaster DOH! his finder turns dark blue and is stuck solid so we take the boat back in, go to his house to find out his dad isnt home, so the neighbors hack at his 100-something dollar reel until he is able to get it out. Reel is destoyed, thumb is hurt badly, and no fish! Whats also bad about that day, superbowl sunday, is that the steelers won
