BuzzBait question
Okay all, I have been throwing Booyah Buzz Buzzbaits for a little over a year now. I have had some luck on them, but durability has been my biggest problem. I have a trip planned on Wednesday and the guy I am going with says the topwater bite has been strong until noon or 1 each day and that he plans to throw buzzbaits most of the morning. We will be tossing them around a lot of structures and downed trees.
I will likely switch from the bait to worms sooner than him, but I do need to pick up a few more baits. What brands do you all recommend. While they may be great, I can tell you that the $19 optimums are not happening, but most of the others are in teh budget.

Yuo could add a trailer hook to your buzzzzzz bait and that will help increase your hook ups other than that I have pretty much stuck with the booyah brand buzz's , you could also throw a spook , a popper , a jitterbug , or a frog for topwater .

It is a fun lake. All barbless and all C&R. 40 fish days are not unheard of. Lately the numbers are down (15-25), but most are a little over the 2lbs mark.

hart makes a really good buzzbait. also a lot of mom and pop type bait shops either make their own buzzbaits and spinnerbaits or sell ones that local guys make. a lot of the time these buzzbaits will be a lot better than mass produced baits, just something you might want to check out.

I use mostly booyah buzzbaits. They are a bit more pricey, but the booyah bi-you buzz is well worth the 10 bucks IMO. Those and a few homemade ones I have, that's about all I use.

i never sink to much into any buzzbait, 2-3 bucks tops.
Hart is the brand i go for, or any buzzerbait that has a flat bottom instead of the sinker lead triangle shape, the flat comes up to plane faster. no clackers here either |

the problem with buzzbaits are they need to be broke in. i get a new one and i'll tie it to the casting seat as you trailer the boat to and from the launch it will break it in..

I ended up picking up a couple of locally made ones. They have the flat bottom that JB mentioned.
Thanks for all the advice.

I agree with Zooker on this one. I've used Cavation buzzbaits for year now and they have held up well. I also have a Strike King buzzbait that I have used for probably 10 years now and it is still in good working condition.

Been throwing Ohio Pro, I like them because they perform consistantly well, have an X-tra long shank hook eliminating the need of a trailer hook, affordable and durable. Also you can run them slow (for a buzzbait) without it droping below the surface. Nice skirts too. I've been picking those up at cabelas.
