New Combos

There is a guy on craigslist selling 2 combos, and I have been looking to buy a new one but these seem to be good for the price, just wanted someone elses opinion on these 2 combos. The first combo is a Johny Morris Reel model jmx10hb highseppd 6:3-1 on a bass pro extreme rod 6.6' medium action 8-17 ilb, and the second combo is a Shimano Calys cyx100A on a Bioni Im8 Grafit rod 6' medium-heavy 10-20 lb....The guy said he could do $120.00 on both of them combined, and these poles have not been used and the reels have almost no use. Do you guys think this is a good deal? I dont know anything about these reels/rods, so i was hoping some of you could give me some info on these combos. I was wondering if maybe a 6'6 rod and 6' pole were to short? I plan to use these combos for flipping, pitching, and some on shore use. Anyone know what application 6' poles are good for? Please reply, if you think I should just get a new combo and not get these ones post which combo you think is good. Thanks
