Not only tips from here but from tv and magazines. I always intend to write down some items and it seems like even when I have a plan in mind usually go back to things that work. This fall I did try to do it the way I planned. I would take lures that were the ones that were recommended for fall. What worked best was small crankbaits.

No. I can hardly read, need to save all my mental and psychic energy for feeling where the bass will be.
I do take a pen and paper fishing sometimes and take notes on the water. So many things I observe while out there, I would forget by the time I get home. Prepare at home so you can fish fast and loose.

I do but I try not to overwhelm myself with too much. I make notes for when I want to go purchase items and for when I go "out" on the water (bankfishing). I usually try to choose a few different styles, techniques, or lures to fish that day. I try to make the necessary adjustments that night to save some time the next day. I then try to stick to the techniques and lures that I have chosen. But I always have a spare rod handy with it setup the "normal" way I fish. |

Its almost as easy to make notes by posting on here and then look back at your post using the search tool when you need reminded about past things you've learned.

I did for a while and started to put patterns together and winning tournaments so of course I've stopped . It can get overwhelming if you fish a lot but it does have some benefits. Some pro's recommend it and others don't.

We should consider that there are two types of bass fishermen.
Those who go by pure feeling and experience. (myself) and Those who can use reason to figure out patterns with good consistency. I think if you are the first type, taking notes like that may not help much. Probably wouldn't. The second type - it very well might.
