Default BPS Pro Qualifier rods

In case there is anyone looking to buy a good quality rod at an affordable price, I thought I would mention that BPS is having a clearance sale on their Pro Qualifier rods. Normally priced at $119.00, you can now buy them for $59.99. I purchased two today myself. This is a hell of a deal IMHO.

Yeah, I should have mentioned that. The sale was posted in store adds. I'm not sure if the catalog sales part of the BPS buisness would honer that price or not. It's worth calling to find out though.

I have a couple of those and they are very nice rods. I think I will sneak over to BPS at lunch and pick up a couple of extras. Thanks for the tip.

That's awesome. I was looking for a good rod to go with my new Daiwa Viento. And for 60 bucks that great! Anybody know how long the sale's going to last, cause I wouldn't be able to make it up there until the weekend. I doubt they'd even haev a good selection by that time anyways.

I think the sale is going on untill mid oct. but not sure. You can call your local BPS and ask. If you don't see the rod your looking for on the rack, ask if they have it in back. I didn't see one of the rods I wanted to buy on display and had them check. Sure enough, there were several of the one I wanted in back.

I just recieved my new BPS fall catalog and there are no Pro qualifier rod in it. I think they are getting rid of them. We are going up there this weekend and I'm getting one. or two...

I'd better hide from the you-know-what...

$60 is a great price for a Pro-Qualifier rod. I've had one for a couple of years now and it is my favorite baitcast rod. Stay away from the Pro-Qualifier reels though (if they still sell them), the one I got with my combo was garbage.

I've got a Pro Qualifier reel, and will definately be getting another one. By far the best reel I've ever owned. I've thrown quite a few baitcasters now, and I still like this one about the best.

Maybe they've improved over the years bus, but the one I bought 3 years ago was junk. The first year was great. It was smooth and casted as well as any baitcaster I've owned. In the second year, it started having problems with the thumbar sticking and a grinding noise when cranking. By the 3rd year, I junked it.... I did open up the gearbox, hoping a good lube would fix it. I found worn nylon gears and plastic parts where you'd normally find metal in a quality reel.

Out-of-the-box and maybe for a year or two they're an impressive reel at a bargain price, but plan on replacing them soon.
