as long as the water is clear enough to allow, i would use crawdad colors, especially for smallmouth. i prefer roundhead finesse jigs for smallmouth unless i am dealing with a ton of rock and then i go to a football head. we can make cutom skirt colors so holler at me if you need anything.

Black Bitsy Bug - Green pumpkin trailer
We make a special small hook version of ours too that is similar in size but if you are losing lots of them in a river the Strike Kings are cheaper. |

If you use hair jigs, either black or olive, green pumpkin or dark brown.

swimbait-
maybe you'll be fishing out of the Flip Clip Boat- I was asked to be a captain, I'll be there. I've been fishing the three rivers for over 40 years now, and bender is on the right path. Smallest black jig you can find, 1/8 ounce bitsy bug works great. We used to use the Uncle josh 101 pork in black or blue for a trailer, but rubber works great too and doesn't dry out. Find overhanging bushes and other junk- pitch that bugger back into it as far as you can. You guys are in the Allegheny River only, if the rain stays away it can get pretty clear. If it clears up flouro is a good idea. They've been eating topwater pretty good now too so keep that in your arsenal. http://www.flipclipfishing.com |
