Dang, that is a steal... I may have to make a stop there this weekend! Edit: I went and looked at the ad online, and they have all DT Sureset baits for 4.99. It didn't include the regular DT Baits.

Ahhh, your right, but thats ok with me. I prefer the color patterns offered in the Sure Set series anyways. The only stipulations I see in the add is that it excludes the DT20 and the new Thug lures.

Now I'd only be half as mad when I reel in just a plastic lip...

Ryan, I am not sure what you meant. Are you not a fan of the sureset hooks?

You can always change out the hooks. I do on a lot of baits before they go into my box, simple task.
Oh wait a minute - you're an engineer, so it probably takes 14 steps, with several diagrams, covering at least 15 minutes per hook. What's more fun than funning an engineer? |

It would have been funny....if I had been the person who made the original comment.
I asked Ryan if he disliked Sureset hooks. Somehow, this morphed into "nofear doesn't know how to change hooks." LOL

NFE, I never said you "don't know how". I mearly surmised you had a detailed, regimented, highly prescribed technical procedure for doing so.
NFE's hook changing procedure: 1. retreive instructions & diagrams from laptop. 2. secure the work area. 3. insure sufficient lighting. 4. procure the proper tools. 5. review all safety procedures. 6. have medical equipment within reach - bandaids, antiseptic, rubber bands make a great finger turniquet. 7. inspect lure to have hooks changed. 8. inspect split rings - prepare to replace any that may be defective. 9. prepare to remove old hook by placing small pieces of plastic drink stirers over the barbs to prevent self impalation. 10. remove old hook by using APPROVED split ring pliers. 10A. grasp split ring with pliers 10B. grasp hook in fingers (gloves may be recommend as additional safety precaution) 10C. rotate split ring around hook until hook comes off. 11. inspect new hook and caculate desired size - replace like for like or increase one size based upon projected usage. 12. install new hook, repeating steps 10A - 10C 13. check hook installtion to insure hooks swing freely. 14, secure lure in APPROVED lure storage box. There, 14 steps - I knew I would be close and you guys thought it was just a guess. |

Bryce, I don't really care for the hooks that much, I had a fish on just the Back Surest hook one time and the fish mad a hard run and broke that hook off... I do plan on buying some of the DT Suresets though and changing out the hooks with VMC Short Shanks though..
