Hey, I won't be much help, but the other guys here will be. My suggestion is change lures, colors, sizes, etc. Just keep changin until you find something they like. By the way, welcome to the nut-house

Hi Steven. When the bite is slow, sometimes it helps to go to a smaller size bait that can be worked slowly. Perhaps a 6 inch plastic worm worked very slow without any weight at all, or a small 1/8 oz weight. Rig it weedless and crawl it slowly along weed edges, through grass beds, areas like that. Don't expect a hard strike, but rather a tightening of the line. And watch your line for movement. Many times you won't feel the bass suck up your worm, but you will see your line moving away from you. Another thing to try is a small tandem spinner, in say 1/4 oz size. Add a small 3 inch twister grub as a trailer, and retrieve it slowly through cover. I prefer a contrasting color with my spinnerbait trailers. For example, I use a white spinnerbait with a bright yellow trailer. I seem to get more strikes by using that contrast in colors. Good luck.

Congrats! I haven't been out fishing lately (with the exception of musky fishing last saturday) I've been too busy with school and homework and stuff, I really stinks. I think I'll go out and fish in the rain right now.

what is the water clarity??? If murky, use pumpkin seed SENKOS, weightless. I ahd the same prob. not catching anything, until I discovered the wonders of SENKOS.

If clear, use more birght colors.

Steven, welcome to the forum!

Don't be too disappointed or frustrated in you don't get bit this time of year. Up north the weather is turning cooler so the fish will turn on sooner than they do here in the south-they are still in a summer pattern here. On the plus side the spawn happens earlier in the year down here.
