Always lock your box!
I got lucky, it was just my small hook/weight box, but I still wasn't able to get it all back. Looks like I will be taking a trip to Dick's tonight.

I try really hard to keep hooks in their original packages and keep all other terminal tackle in little bags. I cut sections out of my boxes to fit hook packages and other oversized stuff. It would make me crazy if my terminal tackle wasn't somewhat organized, or.....if I spilled it all in the grass..

I too learned this lesson.
I am anal about it and will actually waste the time to close them every time. I also keep hooks in their original packs for the same reasons. If the packs fall out of the bag, they'll all still be together.

Done that more times than I care to count. I think it is like launching your boat without the plug in: there are them that have, and them that will.

I've done that as well. You don't mind as much if the crankbait box or the topwater box so much, but of course, it's ALWAYS the box full of terminal tackle that get spilled on the ground...
I use a Falcon FTO Terminal Tackle Organizer box (which would definitely make my top 2 favorite of my falcon boxes)), and I keep a selection of Gamakatsu EWG hooks in the specified 1/0, 2/0, etc. hook spaces, and all my other hooks go up in the large Misc. section in their packages. Another good tip for anyone who keeps snaps, swivels, and even beads. Thread them all on to some good sized safety pins. Keeps them together and saves space cause now you can throw all the snaps and swivels into the same section of the box and still keep them separate. BB

Yeah, I know, I lucked out. However, later that evening I dumped my crankbaits all over my carpet. Treble hooks + carpet =

Yep, for whatever reason the treble hook baits are usually the ones that get dumped on the carpet

Man that sucks when that happens. But I think it is awesomet that you kept your cool long enough to take a picture of that mess because I would have went on a rampage of kicking stuff and cussing like a sailor.

I was organizing one day when my oldest, he might have been 2, turned my main box over on the floor. I had walked in the kitchen and came back to the ruckus to just catch him before he got in the cactus of treble hooks. I could see trying to explain to the wife why I was sitting at the hospital with 5 pounds of devil horses and spooks hanging from him.

True
That is so true why is that? I have a series of cups I used to use for putting in the living room. (Only room with carpet in our house wife loves noisy hardwood) But now I use them to practice flipping into when watching TV. My dog goes crazy but it's worth it. I get back out on the road next week can’t wait. The wife and dog are ready for me to go too.
