Where to buy living rubber skirts
I am looking to buy some living rubber pre made skirts. I want to use them to fish unweighted on a hook with a rubber trailer. Like a jig with no lead head. Anyone have a source?

This is the guy I get all of my skirts from, they are top notch, and he is a great guy to deal with.
Just look about half way down the page on the L/H side and you will see a heading for skirts. http://www.bassdozerstore.com/?refid=store Last edited by Tavery5; 09-05-10 at 03:38 PM. Reason: additional info |

They don't have too many premade, but Living Rubbber has some on their site. When I buy the rolls I get them directly from Living Rubber. It is a little more difficult to use when making skirts than standard silicone skirt tabs.

fishingskirts.com sells them for the best price
bassdozer is also a great place. I've been working on the weightless jig idea myself maybe we can trade some ideas about how to make it work |

Thanks guys. Sounds good Capt0. First thing is what type of hook and how to attach it.

Hey Bob, I would try using either a tru-turn or a straight shank hook. I would use a bobber stop on the line followed by a plastic bead big enought that it would not pass through the opening in the skirt, then thread on my skirt followed by another plastic bead and finally tie on the hook. I would then push everything together and use the the bobber stop to hold it in place. Attach your favorite plastic and away you go. They are using setups like this with large bullet weights in the mix to punch mats with.

I've already made one just a cheap one to see if it would work.
I found a small skirt rubber band and pulled the skirt though it. To make a stop I cut a small piece of screen door rubber wedging and melted it on to the hook shank. I'll post some pictures later with more detail |
