Telescopic Rod question
I'm considering getting a new flippin' stick. I want to get a 7'6" telescopic model. My concern is it won't fit in my rod box. It will fit rods about 7'2". How much do they generally collapse?

I have a Kistler LTA 7'6" telescopic flipping stick and it collapses 18", down to 6' even. I would guess all telescopic rods will be similiar if not exact, allowing them to fit in the shortest of rod lockers.

I appreciate it! My problem is I live in the middle of the boondocks. I have to base most of my information off the internet and catalogs. This site is a godsend for someone like me who lives two hours from the nearest sporting goods store.

I have a 7'6" telescoping rod also. I haven't measured it against my other rods for sure, but I know it's shorter than the 6'6" rods that make up most of my gear.

What kind of a boat is it? I know on my boat the specs say 7 footers will fit. I put my 7'11" deep cranking rod in there with no problem. I'd measure first. I've never used a telescoping rod, but I know that I prefer 1 piece ones.

Nothing wrong in being cautious. After you decide on the rod you want, I'd call the company and ask them how much the rod will telescope down. Better to get it from the horse's mouth than here say.

I have a 7'6" Falcon flipping stick that telescopes. I don't know what the length is when it's collapsed but it's way shorter than 7'.

I'd be surprised if any 7'6" flipping stick wasn't less than 7' collapsed. My old one was right around 6' I believe.
