Hey JB, That 1's not a myth , it's a fact. , thats why i always make my second cast first

Here are a few:
bass strike out of anger; bass can hate a species (ie lizards)
baitfish are blown about by wind
air pressure affects bass

It's hard sometimes to differentiate between myth and misinformation.

Flourocarbon vs. Mono visibility

Red hooks, and red line in terms of visibility

The theory that if a fishes eyes are looking up when you catch it that means it was below your bait when it hit. vis versa.

The theory suggests that a bass's eyes can be fixed in a position depending on where it's feeding on or just hit. Don't know if I believe that one either considering the fact that a bass is like a pointer in that it points its head and body directly at the target, up or down, after it's got a visual fix.

Ive noticed over the years- If the alligators are out- the fishing is good. No gators- no fish. Don't know why, but Ive proven it time and time again.

Gators hunt by lying in wait for their prey to make a mistake and swim just about into their mouth. They don't chase food. It seems that gators have an uncanny ability to sense active periods coming, hence active gators will almost always mean active fish. Another good indicator of the presence of bass is out friendly cormorant. A concentration of these birds means a concentration of bait, which of course means a concentration of bass.

There are so many myths about bass fishing that one could write a very large book about them. What amazes me is the myths that are propagated by the so-called pros.

I do like the banana thing - the wind thing - and several more. The banana thing helps to keep my boat clean, and all the rest keep people out of the way and off the fish.
