The Night Before the Contest

'Twas the night before the start of Big Bass contest, when all through the house
not a creature was stirring not even a Kopper's Field mouse;
The rods were hung in there racks with great care,
In hopes that the Contest Start would soon be there;
The Anglers were nestled all snug in their beds,
while visions of new crankbaits danced in their heads;
And Ma in her 'kerchief, and the angler in his BassPro Bass Cap,
had just settled in for a last winters' nap,
When out on the pond there arose such a splatter,
The angler sprang from his bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window he flew like a flash,
tore open the shutter, and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow,
gave the lustre of mid-day on the bass down below,
When, what to his wondering eyes should appear,
but a miniature Ranger all packed full of CUSTOM gear.
With a little old driver so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. STICK!
More rapid than Rat-L-Traps his courses they came,
as he whistled and shouted and pulled out his baits;
Now ZIPPER! Now JJ's! Now RAGETAIL, and JITTERBUG!
On POP-R! On SPINNERBAIT! On SENKO and MUDBUG!
To the back of the pads, where the big bass will fall;
now cast away, cast away, cast away all!

I want to take a moment to thank a great group of anglers.

Walker, 'WaffleJaw'. Thank you for a great first place TREASURE.
Garey, 'Bubba Bruiser'. Thank you! First time in my life I won't mind being second.
Donnie, 'fishnart'. Thank you for putting frosting on first and second and for helping out with a great 3rd place PRIZE.

Ken, 'kennethdaysale'. Homemade Custom handpoured platics.
Now I'm not sure if lillmule was tossing in his shirt because he didn't have a 'TOWEL' handy, or if a Team LILLMULE Custom Jersey was part of third place?

Anyway anglers you made for a GREAT third place finish.

I have myself (ok the monkey) convinced that if I can loose 1st or 2nd, I'm (we're) still a BIG WINNER!

I want to thank Joe, 'Jrob' and Don, '1/4stick' for they're participation in the the contest too.

Now am I forgetting something/one.....?: confused:

KEN YOU MAY HAVE STARTED A BF.COM TRADITION!

You definitely put together a contest that can't be beat by ANY other forum out there!!!!!!!


And finally I'd like to thank EVERY contestant in this GREAT contest.
Without your great enthusiasm the contest would just be a great idea.
It maybe late for the procrastenaters BUT I'm thinking you just maybe able to talk to Ken,Joe and Stick into a compromise. Rumor has it that they are 'kinda' an understanding group.

I know this is early but really thought the poem would take longer and it would be WELL PAST MIDNIGHT when I finished.
Plus I had to read through 300+ posts to make sure I didn't leave someone out.
