ok, went to wally world today looking to get a couple more of lisa's favorite rattle traps. BUT they ain't gonna carry em anymore, said they cost to much for wally. bah!! humbug!! (thaks zooker, now ya got me thinking of christmas crap again, lol).
but anyway, i got some gamakatsu no slip skip gap hooks. anyone ever tried these? i know how to hook plastics with it. but i am wondering if they really help ya skip under cocks like they advertise. let me know.

I use them a lot. I put them on horny toads mostly but will also add them onto longer worms as well.
I don't use them so much for skipping the bait, but they hold baits on quite well when bringing them through algae and such

rofl JB, that's funny.
I've got some 3/0 skip gaps, I haven't used them for skipping yet, but I use them for pitching beavers. BB

Poor Dog. I won't start the which are best debate, but I will say that there are some baits where I prefer Gammys and others where Owner better suits my needs

ok, let me refine the question......
what makes this hook better at skipping under DOCKS (HEHE) than other hooks? lighter?

I think lighter helps along with how it holds the bait. Less chance of having the bait slip and lose form as it skips

Not huge with skipping although once a blue moon I do it, but I really think that hooks are way less important than the type of bait, how it is rigged and what you are throwing it with. And while durability wise the new hooks look to help, you can more than make up for that by using soft bait glue make sure the plastics stays where you want it.
