Default Mattern Guide Service on Sam Rayburn

Mattern Guide Service on Lake Palestine & Sam Rayburn

Hello Everybody,

Exodus 12: Verse 13; And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are; And when I see the blood, I will pass over you.

Mark 14: Verse 24: Jesus said; This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.

Wow is the water down at Rayburn or what. Last week I was fishing in the cypress trees this week I had to regroup totally. Water level is at 160.09 or about 4 feet low. The water temps were about 82 degrees. Water is stained in all the creeks in the back and most of the lake is stained above the 147 bridge. Lake clears at Harvey creek onward to the Dam. The water drop has effected the bite and made it slow and without the water up in the grass it caused a stain in the water from Duranzo creek to the 147 bridge. The good news is Bass are concentrated when you find them.

All the mossbeds that were on the banks have died except in certain bends and coves that were really mossed up such as Harvey, Caney, and Veach all still have alot of Hydrilla.

We caught some good keepers yesterday with the biggest about 4 lber. Bite is tough right now and the carolina-rig no doubt will be catching some big sacks. Found Bass in the hydrilla beds on wacky rigged phantom tackles stinko in watermelon red. Where there was no grass bass moved back on isolated stump cover in 6-10 foot nearer to deeper water. Those Bass hit Texas rigged Nichols creature baits or Phantom tackle stink hogs in same color.

You can imagine all that cover near the banks where bass were holding up in and now it is all exposed. Alot of scoolies around but for a good sack unless you see big splashes in the schooling activity don\\\'t waste your time.

The carolina rig also caught some good Bass worked around 10-15 foot dragging Creature baits as well. Well I will be going to Falcon Lake for the Bass Champs Championship next week while you guys duke it out on Big Sam. Wish you all well and remember Jesus loves you and the devil is a liar.
