Put gas in my truck yesterday cost $87 dollars to feed my beast and $10 to mow the yard. What the h^%$ is goin on. This keeps it up and I aint gonna be able to take my big boat out. Have to use the trollin motor only.Get this. Just bought a truck this spring that will only run on premium. Man what a mistake that was.

Alaska is the larget state in the union, it's as big as the entire mid west... polar bears are tiny specks compared to the land available there... there is land that holds HUGE natural oil wells that could be drilled that is uninhabitable by animals. the only problem is, the cost of building drilling/refining equipment would drive the prices up even more for long periods until the drills/refineries are paid for. the easy solution is to take oil from Iraq and other mid eastern countries. and if you say that's wrong, then i want you to tell me how many wars in history have been fought without one country taking over another for natural or monetary resources.

british took the india
germany in ww2 took almost every country in europe
huns under attila took rome
france under napoleon took lotsa europe (and failed while trying for russia)
iraq took quwait (almost )
saxons took england
british took parts of japan
etc. etc. etc.

what is currently the US was inhabited by caucasians a buncha years ago, when nomadic asians crossed the land bridge and came south, warred with the caucasians and took over for land and wut not... we call these asians native americans... when in actuality they are no more native than we are... so next time you hear a "native american" yelling about us taking their land... just let 'em kno that we just took back wut was ours in the first place
(but that's a different story)

Its $3.09 right now, but just half hour away in Dayton Oh. is $3.55

they expect it to go to 4 bucks and then taper back to 3, end of year price speculation is 2.50

You know food will follow soon in increasing the freight charges the trucks charge..and on and on...

The oil isn't worth the public relations nightmare of looting Iraq, trust me. Alaska and now, rebuilding the industry on the gulf coast are what we are gonna have to do - theres also some oil shale over in colorado that may become finacially viable. Eventually we are gonna have to find an alternative, but thats at least, at least 10 years away and it wont happen until the price of gas goes up enough to make alternative energy seem like a good deal.

Well, hurricane katrina definitely isn't going to help with gas prices, and drilling alaska would only help so much. The problem is that China is rapidly industrializing, they've got 4x as many people as in the US so their demand is going to go way up. It has nothing to do with the war, its just that the demand for it is going way up while the production is about the same.

Went up from 2.69 to 2.89 in one hour here

And the EPA granted the Oil co.s that they dont have to refine it as much due to polution till the 15th so that more production can occur and at lower prices. Atlanta supposed to lose all gas later tonight or tom. morning due to a pipeline shut off somewhere where the hurricane hit.

Hope it gets better. No money to fill the boat soon.

$2.65-$2.79 here. The problem isn't crude oil-it is refineries. There has not been a new refinery built in the US since the 70's, and with I believe I heard 8% of the refining capability shut down on the gulf coast prices will continue to spike.

$3.19999999999 here today. I have heard they are gonna release some of the reserves. WTL called it, we need alternatives fuel sources. And until the government mandates it. Which means all the rich guys getting richer have to say we are rich enough now, make it happen. The technology is available as we speak, just have to start manufacturing, and mass producing, as well as have the fuel readily available.

I waited to tonight to fill up. Long lines at every station. I should have gone earlier every station is out of regular. I paid 2.79 for next up from regular. One station held his price at 2.69 for regular, everyone else raised to 2.89. Tomorrow reg is going up over 3.00. Thinking about public transportation so I can save gas to go fishing. I have to walk a half mile when I would get off the bus. Good thing is I need the exercise.

yup, the gas has affected our football season.....we were scheduled to play west orange tonight, but since orange county stopped using busses for after school activities our game was canceled. now our season is in jeopardy. and we have to watch the news tonight because we might not have busses to take us to school tommorow......

um reb i know a tad about refinery work. it aint changed much since the unleaded only law came into being. one thing i do know is that the epa has the refineries running at 20% capacity as a rule every day.they lifted the restrictions till sept 15th. which means the guys in the refineries can open the throttle all the way on production out put.

problem is the refineries have the fuel to go but with out power the pumps can't push it anywhere.
