Yes, he made the announcement a few months ago. He'll still do his show, but he retired from competition.

One of the legends from the early days, even before my time. But I never did care too much for his show. Bill Dance and Orlando Wilson gave better instructional shows in my opinion. Anyway, Roland is a heck of a bass fisherman, and I would love to sit down with him some day and shoot the shiza with him. I bet we see him around from time to time for a while though, at least I would like too. Anyone who can win that many titles, and be Angler of the year what 9 times....that is truly an awesome feat. I even bought his silly HELICOPTER LURE...
