Default Spoon and Pig?

One of my favorite lures is a johnson silver minnow, with a white grub. I was thinking of putting a pig on it. Has anyone ever done this? Is it effective?

Thanks

Man, do I love fishing a spoon, but nobody ever talks about it on here. Never tried a pig, but give it a whirl, everythings worth a try at least once.

Back in the day my Dad would only use pork for his johnson spoons. But he didn't use the pork frogs, they didn't have them, he used the white pork strips. Those are hard to find now, but maybe you can get some...

I've heard from several people that fishing weedless spoons w/ uncle josh pork trailers are killer up north. Guy had a picture of a 6 he caught in mn on one of those. Supposedly they're really good in weeds and especially arond rice fields.

Hula, they used to use them a lot down in your neck of the woods, fished through sparse kissimmee grass like you would fish a spinnerbait today.

I've used Johnson spoons with pork frogs for years in weedbeds and lilly pads with excellent results. My best luck with bass has been using a black Johnson spoon with a black pork frog. Give it a try.

I use the pork strips as spinnerbait trailers.
