Default Backwater Report

Well the frogs are gone and the shad/herring are making the exit out the creek too. LGmouth where keyed in on shad schools traveling the grass edge. But as the edge got flooded over the bite just about stopped. We had some very high tides last night and the fish went right back with it.. Several nice LGMouth fell to red shad wackos and diving bunker flies but only one fish to topwater.. I LOVE TOPWATER but the fish are keyed different now and a change of tatics is needed to get them. A big 5 plus bass came unbuttoned at the boat and that was a shame. The big one took a big popper cast very far on surf rod and dug into the grass, wrapped a tree and took to the air four times. A good fight and as it was lifted into the boat it fell right off. Only topwater fish the entire night except a bluegill.
