Default Backwater Report

With the 90 plus weather the topwater bite kicked it self up a notch. This Saturday I had a last minute charter with three gents who have never fished for LGMouth before. The casting was .......well the attempeted casting was about as good as one could expect with many tree bass and throws deep into the woods. But in spite of those loose canons when the lure landed right the fish responed well. 12 fish to the boat and about four large fish lost at the boat naturally. The wind made for tough casting and topwater but these guys did an excellent job and had a great time laughing so hard at times they had to sit down and relax.

And I think I created a bass fisherman in this young man. He got real good at casting as the evening went on.

Not one fish over 15 inches made it into the boat except two gar..
We did get a big ring tail perch about 13 inches.

A trip with a good guide is well worth the cost. I was never a particularly serious fisherman, but a couple outings with Ken Penrod got me hooked for life! (No pun intended). A day with a guide may seem expensive, but the knowledge you gain from fishing with someone who knows all the tricks stays with you forever.
