Try twitching a Bang-o- lure. If you have never used one, let me know, and I will tell you how I use it. Happy fishing

I doubt there's a "best" topwater. Why not try an assortment? Buzzbaits, poppers, walk-the-dog types, Jitterbugs, etc.

there's a best top water. the trouble is finding it. Marty you should use a "zara spook" on the northwest side of Irondequot bay" just before and during sunrise that will be your best top water.

If you want to catch one of those Gar fish. Catch it without a hook. Get a cotton cloths line,or a verry small rope, and fray the end on it about an inch back so it is almost like a cotton ball. Dip it in Chum or anything that will stick to the frayed end, and throw it and let it set for few moments. The teeth in the Gar ar so plentiful that when it bites the rope, he get's his teeth caught in the matted end of the line, and you have caught you a fish with out a fish hook. Try it. It works.

I found an old popper at my fishing spot a while back. How do I fish one of them?

a popper is not the best topwater lure ............. it is the best lure

what you do is cast out and wait for the ripples clear up,this gives the fish more time to examine it.then twitch it count 1 mississippi and twitch again.make sure when waiting for the ripples clear up reel in the slack because a lot of fish hit it before you even move it

Being unregistered, and giving some folks a witty time is pretty sad. He actually gave the BEST advice on the subject IMO. Amazing how cowards are always hiding behind domething. Register an become a member. If you are all knowing then we could all use some of the great bass fishing knowledge.
