You should get what you think and what you can afford to buy, or post a few different reels your thinking of buying so you can get advice on what your looking at. I hope this helps. I was going to say buy a Shimano Stella, or a Van Staal reel, but most of us wouldn't buy one of them due to the price. P N J

For a spinning reel what Curado said. I have a couple and they are great reels that aren't all that expensive.

Quantum has always made excellant spinng reels. Of course Shimano makes fine ones as well. The Symetre is a very good real and dont cost you the bank I do strongly advise you to buy the higher end reels. With todays advancements in reels they are superior to yesteryears. The mroe bearings the better and make sure it contains wrom gear oscillation. Its a must for proper line retrieval.

LOL Flames when you get back on ebay check out aeigis rod and reels. EXCELLANT prices. Try and not bid till the last minute. I have already lost several auctions by bidding to early. He has GREAT reels at GREAT prices. SO far I have been able to save over a hundred bucks on 2 reels for my sons. They sell for 109 at the stores and I got one for 36 and one for 24. They are New and In the box reels.

My first choice would be a Shimano Stradic. If you are on a budget, the Shimano Symetre is one of the best reels for the buck.
