Creme Silver-Side Minnows.

I will readily admit that since a few months ago when I started fishing with Creme worms I have developed a slight obsession with the lures put out by this company. I have yet to use a lure from them that has not caught me a fish, so I guess it's not a bad thing...

Anywho... I picked up a pack of silver-side minnows, and I am wondering if anyone here has experience with them, or a similar lure. I would like to try and get some pan fish on them. I've seem people talk about bass in user reviews, one as big as 8#, but I did not buy them with that in mind. Crappie are what I really want to get some of.

Any advice would be great, thanks!

They look interesting John. Never used anything like that but they should work for crappie. Maybe try them under a bobber.

I've never seen those before but the Crappie jigs I've had the most success with have a lot of silver tinsel in them. You'll have to let us know how they work.

They are cheap... $1.46 for a three pack.

I think that is sort of the point. However, it's not foil, it's mylar. They use that for the reflective properties. Nasa uses it for weather balloons and satellite insolation, so can't be too weak. They actually seem pretty sturdy, except for the eyes, which are just stuck on, but I don't think the eyes are very important on this lure anyway.

I figure they are worth a try for the price.

John, you are a member of a very long list of Creme fans. They have been around for a long, long time. Sure am curious about the silver side minnows for Crappie. Please keep us posted on their effectiveness.

Yeah that looks like a good crappie jig to me. I was reading a book today i found in Dads "library" that had a nice paragraph about how Nick Creme pioneered plastics...

I've never used, or even seen, the silver sided minnows you asked about, but I have always liked Creme plastic baits. Actually, in my area Creme baits are becoming hard to find for some reason. Seems like the Zoom and Yum brands have taken over.

I am a huge fan of Creme plastics. I use a lot of them and have had a lot of success. I have yet to use a Creme lure that I have not caught a fish on, except for the silver sides. I took one out and jigged it for a few minutes, but the sun came out and I got overheated real fast, so I had to leave. According to the sensor in my truck it shot up to 102 degrees. I wish I had broke them out sooner, because I was catching bream on bits of Gulp nightcrawlers.

They look like they would work well to me. I'm with bassnbob. I'd use them under a small clear slip bobber. You could easily and quicly adjust the depth the bait is running untill you find exactly where they are.
