Default Suzuki DT 40 electrical issue

Hi,
I just bought a Suzuki DT 40. It runs good but after the third start, the starter has stopped responding. I heard a very faint "click" when I attempted to turn the key. Like a circuit breaker. Pull start works great and the motor is running good.

Just before this happened, I was installing the shift and throttle cables.
Maybe there's a wire that got loose?

Any test for checking the starter motor?

Thanks. First boat for me. It's a 1985 aluminum Lund. It came with no motor so the DT 40 has some work to do.
