End of season

Well, I held off as long as I dared, but time to winterize

...
I bit the bullet and had it serviced and shrink wrapped, but I think I'll do it all myself next year. They strap two tall 2x4 masts fore and aft which is sure to shed the snow (and notice the two vents which should let any moisture escape.)

I think I/we did pretty well - I didn't get the boat until the end of June and didn't even have a trailer hitch. With work and weather, I was able to get her in the water 16 times in 4 different lakes.

Looks like they did a good job wrapping it up. I think I am close to being done too, water was 42 yesterday and did not have a bite. I might try for some walleye as well as bass tomorrow but the hard water will be here before you know it.

I can't see from that picture, did they cover up the prop? If not you might want to wrap it up so that water doesn't run down into the LU.

Yes the shrink wrap wraps it up good, but at the $11+/foot cost, I think I could do nearly as well with a similar mast approach, a decent tarp and some duct tape. Oh I'd prolly need some goo gone in spring to deal with the duct tape stickum, but I think the savings would be worth it. Yes the shrink wrap goes around part of the prop, but I'll check closer and wrap further if needed.
Most of Cayuga Lake doesn't freeze in winter and there is one launch on the other side of the lake that uses air bubblers to keep from freezing. However, I'm just gonna sit by a warm fire and plan for spring.
