Just a note a lot of people on here dont like caps... I think it all depends on the day but first I'd try a beetle spin.
Just another note check out the name of this site... it's called bassfishin.com not crappiefishin.com

I use a slip-bobber with a jig tipped with a Gulp! maggot and outfish my buddy with live minnows.

I'm don't crappie fish much. But i always keep a few Road Runners in my bag. They are awsome Crappie Killers. But they will reap HAVOC on the bass as well.

I'm not as avid a crappie anger as bass, but I do thoroughly enjoy it enough that I poor and paint my own heads and tie all my maribou jigs. I use a variety of soft plastics but mostly the tubes and stingers, when I'm not using a maribou jig. Won't use minnows unless I really want to eat some and all they're taking is minnows. Those two events generally don't occur but once every 5 to 7 years. May use a safety pin spinner on Truman once in a while, but locally never.
