Hey gang. i recieved a phone call this afternoon from Kory. Britney had the new baby around 5:30 a.m. thismorning. they had to do a c-section. there was a very small rpoblem with the heart rate of LAKEN. So they took him out with the c section birth. His heart rate went back up and he an mom are doing fantastic now. his weighed 7# 10 oz. length was 19 inches long. he asked me to announce it to everyone since he is still at the hospital. i told him that i would be PROUD to do it for them. So please welcome Laken into the world gang.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. As I sit here in the hospital room and type this Britney is sleeping well and Lake is down at the nursery so we can finally get some sleep. We were up for over 30 hours straight and when things calmed down fatigue starting taking a major toll. Like Bama said, there is a little glitch that nobody can explain. Everything was going along great in labor and all of the sudden Lakes heart rate crashed (it dropped from 160 to 60 and stayed there for way too long). They rushed us off to the O.R. and after a half hour of pure terror, crying, and doing everything I could to be strong for Britney, Lake was born. Those of you who have kids know what I am saying when I say that there is nothing that will compare to the feeling I got when I heard him cry for the first time, that is when I realized that he was breathing so I could breathe again too.

A quick update:

Britney and Lake are still doing very very well. In fact we get a special steak dinner from the hospital cafe which amazingly has awesome food, and the nurse just walked in and told us that unless we want it for breakfast in the morning we should order it tonight because since Britney and Lake are kicking recoverys butt she thought that the doctor might let us go home tomorrow, which is a day earlier than we were told at first. I have so much respect for Britney, she has proven that she is as tough as nails because she hasn't been on any pain killers since they were making her sick yesterday.
