Caught a 7 to 8lb bass yesterday. That was the second Big bass I had on in a 20 minute period. The first one I got to see but didn't realize it was a big bass untill I saw it. She got off about 8 ft. out. Landed the second...may have been the same fish as the first. Don't really know but to give you an Idea, was on a Rattle rouge custom painted, She hit it broad side and had all three sets of trebles in the lower jaw. Very Big Bass. yeeeHAW!!!!

I caught a 6 1/2 lber (weighed) on a warm breezy January day. (yes I DO live in FL) caught in on a 1.4 oz popper. There was no big hit. As a matter of fact I thought it was bluegill just pulling down the feather tail like they do sometimes. It was a jumber. Great way to start off the new year.

Been out trice, but only caught anything on one day - big fish a 2 3/4 pound smallie on a bandit crankbait. Its still pretty early, I'll get cranked up a bit better in a couple months. Lots of crap to worry about right now.

I'm so jealous of you southerners. I used to live in Sevierville, TN. That's where I caught my first January bass (Douglas Lake). I'm seriously thinking about talking heavy jigs down to Sand Lake and trying to punch it through the thin layer of ice like you would through heavy vegetation. I'm a fishing addict having painful withdrawals.
