Chloe update, prayer needed.

Just when everything looked better, it got worse. Chloe is struggling to breath and today they did a CT scan on her at Riley's in Indianapolis. It showed a large cyst in the pulmonary artery close to the aorta, blocking blood flow to the lung. At least that's the way I understand it. So tomorrow morning they are performing surgery on Chloe. They will have to enter through her back, due to the cyst being so close to many major blood vessels preventing entry from the front. So once again, I'm asking you to say a prayer for Chloe that she makes it through this surgery ok. Thanks everyone!

Ok, I got a txt from my sis today and things are looking good right now. Here is what she had to say.

"The doctor tried a little different approach to avoid going through the lung to avoid collapsing, but wasn't sure it would work. Thanks to everyone's prayers, it went perfectly! Now Chloe is intubated in ICU & they will gradually try to wean her off respirator. It may take over night but depends on Chloe. With all the helpful prayers I believe she will be off by tonight! They were able to drain the cyst & put Doxycycline in it which should sclerose it causing it to flatten out & gradually scar over, never to inflate again! They will repeat the CT scan in 2 months to see. Sometimes the procedure has to be repeated, but not Chloe in Jesus' name. Thanks EVERYONE for your prayers!!! Love you lots!!! Janie

Well, I don't know about some of the medical jargon my sister said, but it all sounds good so far. Nurses sometimes forget we are not all medically trained. haha But again, I want to take the time to thank all of you for your prayers. According to my sister, Josh and Kristi are "so touched" by the prayers coming from members of this group here in the forums. If anything changes, I'll be sure to let you know. By the way, when Janie mentioned thanking EVERYONE, she was referring to you! So again I thank you as well.

The scriptures tell us that God says, "Wherever two or more are gathered in my name, I am with them". I'm glad we believe that here!

I will continue to pray for her. I will tell you from first hand experience, she couldn't be in a better place for medical care for little ones!

Got a txt from my sis, and they finally were able to remove the breathing tube after trying all day. They couldn't do it untill now because Chloe wouldn't wake up. But her eyes are open and look good now.

Update from my sister last night.

Chloe came out of ICU today and is in PEDS. Her right lung is hyperextended & they think she has a mucus plug which should resolve on it's own. They will take another x-ray in the morning to make sure she isn't developing pneumonia. She got some breathing treatments today, but is alert and going to the bathroom normally.

I'm pleased to say Chloe is back home for now. Josh and Kristi brought her home yesterday, which was very fitting as it was their wedding anniversary. They couldn't ask for more. Kristi will be performing breathing treatments from home on Chloe and she will be getting regular x-rays and check ups to keep track of things. She still struggles to breath but it's better and should improve over time. Thanks again for all the prayers!
