Warranty
I just purchased a StCroix spinning rod. 6"6" grafite ultra lite. Was sold an extra warranty by the major Outdoor outlet that i bought the rod from. $9.99. Salesman told me no matter how it gets broken 100% gift card would be mailed to me should it break for any reason. However. when I called th 800 number to register the warranty they told me that was not true. Shutting it in a car door or trunk was abuse and not covered.
I then discovered that StCroix has a 1/2 price replacement from the factory no matter how it gets broken. Then on anoter forum two guys were badmouthing the StCroix warranty. I feel that if I did something stupid like shutting the rod in the car door that 1/2 the price to replace it is reasonable. What do ya'all Think ??? |

St croix has a good program for replacement, but the age of the rod matters- this is why they have the serial #. It will not always be half the cost.
If you buy from Gander Mt. there replacement warranty will replace it. |

When I talked to them yesterday after I purchased the rod and the warranty its only goog for one year and it did not cover steping on it or shutting it in the car door.
