Default Making Swimbait Rod

I don't use swimbait much, but I'd like to get a few smaller ones, like the 4" spro or the new 4" Tru tungsten one.

I really don't have anything to throw them on, so I was looking at some of my dad's old rod blanks and found a Lamiglas Graphite blank.

GSH1022MT
8'6"
MH
10-20lb test
3/8 - 2 oz. lure

I was thinking of taking about 6" off the bottom of it to make it an even 8' and then build it for my self to use as a swimbait rod, do you think it'll work alright for smaller swimbaits?

Thanks,

BB

I think it will be more than enough rod. For the 4" it might be a little too much until you can master the very subtle twitching needed to make them perform right. I use a 7' on my 4" swim baits and only go up to 7'6" on the bigger ones. I may give up a little in distance, but prefer being able to make them twitch softly when I want to.
