Hudson Lake, finally got some! (pics!)
well, I decided to set my alarn 30 minutes earlier than normal fishing days so we could get there sooner. Well I woke up to a bit of fog. By the time we were ready to leave, it had cleared around our house. So I decided, I'll drive to the lake. So we leave, and as soon as we get five miles away form our house, the fog is still there. It was dense in areas, but overall pretty patchy. And the leaves are already turning colors.
So after arriving at the lake at the normal (or later) time, we launched and set up the rods to troll for musky. we trolled for a while with nothing and decided to go cast for bass. My dad threw a black booyah tux and tails, while I switched from a white booyah to a white bomber fat free shad depending on where we were. We cam around a point to one of our favorite laydowns. The fat free shad has sort of a square lip so I though, what the heck, if it hangs, I'll go and get it. So I threw it and there twice before I thought I hooked a log. if felt as though the branch broke loose and was spinning on its way to the boat. and then I see this flash under the water (around 2ft of vis, very good for this lake) and realized I had a fish. But not a bass. as I get it closer ot the boat, I see it's a carp. After I got him out of the laydown, he darted under the boat, almost wrapping the line on the TM. we landed him and hooked him up to the lip grip for weight and pics. 5lb 10oz. not big by carp standards, but it was fun. So we continued fishing with nothing, until my dad switched to a chartreuse and white spinnerbait, and got one first cast. Since we lost the other chatreuse and white one like that last time we were here, I just changed the skirt on mine. And still nothing, until my dad hooks another. (the bestof his) Then another. And I wouldn't leave until I got one, so we tryed a couple more places and then one of my favorite shore lines to fish. Before we even gto to the best laydown in the lake, I hook this guy. what a hog. We fished some more and left. (some guy had fished the good laydown right before us. I tried a spinnerbait, a crankbaits, a t-rig worm, and even a popper, but still nothing.) Glad we got out and got some fish today though. BB

Glass was right, hardly any wind all day. And a pretty blue sky too. I do believe it was in the 80's here today. and if not, it sure felt like it was.
