Your Biggest bass?
Let's see what your biggest catch is.
Since i've only fished 3 ponds all next to eachother my catch wasnt that big. I caught a 3 lber on a jointed rapala minnow. Whats your best catch? |

Biggest-right at 8 literally on the last cast in a tank not much bigger than your house on a bleeding shad spinnerbait with a big, single silver Colorado blade. Have had a double digit on the line but it didn't get into the boat. I had bad dreams about that one .

6 and a half pounds. i hate when people complain(not saying you are)about only being able to fish in ponds.most private ponds that people have just to look nice are loaded with fish,big ones too if are able to fish them

Largemouth was 6-2, lake Hatchineha Florida. Smallmouth was right near 5 pounds last year, ********* creek. Wish I had gotten a pic or a good weighing of the smallie, but I was 3 miles up the creek and I wanted to get her back in the water. I've caught Spots up to 3, Shoalies to 1 1/2 and Redeyes getting close to a pound.

i actually really like pond fishing although fishing a lake sounds cool. I like how quiet they are and there a 3 different pond w/ different fishing conditions in every single one so no complaint with that!

I caught a 5lber on a gold/brown spinner last November and a 4lber last December on a ratltrap out of the same 25 acre lake in the same area. I started bass fishing last March. I plan to beat the 5lb mark this spring.

8lbs even 25" long. Caught it in a pond on a Storm Chug Bug. I think it weighed a little more cause the scales were cheap and the fish was a toad but that's ok. I put him back!

JackL
The easiest way to tell a Spot is that the hinge of the mouth is even with the eye, the Largemouth has a mouth hinge that comes back behind the eye, and the smallie mouth hinge is ahead of the eye.
My largest bass was in a tournament on O.H.Ivie Reservoir in West texas in 2002. On Thursday I had a 5 fish limit of 17,49 lbs with the largest bass being 5.71 lbs, on Friday I had a 5 fish limit of 25.28 with the largest bass weighing 8.24 lbs. I won the tournament, but got beat out for big bass both days. (I wanted to take all the marbles!!!) JackL

The way I tell if its a spot is the fin on top of the bass's back is one continous fin, on largemouth there is a section of back between the two fins.

LM = 10lbs 2oz on a Bomber crankbait, 8lbs 4oz on a Zoom Finesse worm
Spotted = 2lbs on a Zoom Lizard SM = 1/2lb on a cricket out of a gravel pond Warmouth bass (Goggle Eye)= 1 1/2lbs on a Zoom u-tail worm There is almost no smalllmouth where I live. You might catch one out of a pond where someone let one go in if you get lucky. you can catch an occasional Spot on the Alabama river.... So im stuck with LM....

Thats a shame Dyas, a 2 pound smallmouth in a river feels like a 4 pound bass from a pond, the current really builds up their muscles lol
