Carolina Rig
Hey guys used a carolina rig for the first time this weekend caught about 10-12 fish between me and a buddy using a lizard. Do you guys prefer a lizard or worm when doing this or is it a good time right now to use a lizard and maybe a worm after spawn? Also what kinda areas would you use a carolina as in water depth, grass, rocks, etc. thanks

The beauty of the C-rig is you can use just about anything. I've done well with lizards, senkos, trick worms, and in the summer French Fries are killer. Like anything, experiment a little and see what works. Haven't tried a craw but that is next on the list.

I think the thing that makes a lizard so appealing on a C rig is that lizards have all these little arms, legs and tail that quiver when you drag it which I think you need when dragging a C rig along the bottom. Looks like the thing is crawling.

This time of year I always use a lizard. I may use a lizard at other times also. After this month I like to use a super fluke jr or a 4 inch quido bug. Fish2win

All of the above, plus Baby Brush Hogs, Finesse worms, trick worms and just about any other soft plastic you can imagine, including Zoom Super Flukes! You are limited only to your imagination. Some lakes require a more subtle finesse type presentation while others can get away with the heavy duty big baits. The presentation is the same though.

"All of the above, plus Baby Brush Hogs, Finesse worms, trick worms and just about any other soft plastic you can imagine, including Zoom Super Flukes!" except TUBES! Just kidding! yes, I have caught smallies by C-rigging tubes on Lake Texoma, Lake Possum Kingdom and Lake Belton.

Buzz, I've had a lot of luck with a tube on the C-rig. Especially, believe it or not, those new coffee tubes. Also, Reb's spot on about the French Fries. Those and the centipedes seem like they were designed just for the C-rig. Try them wacky rigged with a weedless hook sometime... You'll have to hide behind a tree to tie it on! Great smallie technique...

I figured you guys were talking about something else, but sometimes you just never know. Some crazy things actually work. I can see it now. Hey guys I am going to stop by McD's to pick up some bait. Do you think we will need to biggie size 'em? |

"Hello, welcome to McDonald's can I take your order?"
"Yeah, I'll have three orders of fries. One in Green Pumpkin, one in Watermelon Candy, and the last in Junebug." BB

C-Rig Winner
If you haven't tried a Zoom watermellon red flake super fluke you have been missing out. I've fished about everthing on the rig and hands down it beats a lizard or and baby brushhog. Add a touch of char to the tip of the tail and you will have great results... they don't see this very often and it works!

all hail the mighty french fry....no hack shacker we basicly mean the zoom centipede. there is about 12 differant company's that use the term french fry to discribe there finesse worm. i belive it was nick creme that sold the first "french fry" worms. they have been around for years and still catch alot of fish..
