Default Need advice on a spinning reel.........

Need some advice on what kind of reel to pair up with either a 6'9" Vendetta medium light spinning rod or with a Carrot Stix 7' medium light spinning. Looking for great balance.

Thanks in advance...........Brian

Weightless plastics. Maybe a tube jig stuffed with a rattle and a small egg weight. I would love to try a shaky head rig but none of the worms I've seen on the market truly float the tail.

Was eying the Revo spinning reel but really....$250 for a spinning reel? Let's say $150 MAX.........

Thanks, Brian

I don't have much experience with any other brands, but I really like the new Shimano Symetre ($100) I paired with a 7' Veritas (M, I think) this year for fishing weightless plastics. I think I have 3 Symetres in my arsenal now.

Thanks Tom,

I have the Vendetta 6'6" M spinning rod. Though it feels more like a MH. Everywhere I read they said the Vendetta's run heavier than stated. That's why I was going to add a ML to the mix. For balance, was looking for a reel choice from you pro's.......

Easily the finest spinning reel I've owned. And, it's on sale right now.

Personally I would go with a 2500, or 2000. If you plan on using braid or a supple mono, go with the 2000, anything else (especially fluoro), I think a 2500 would be a lot better, as the large spool manages stiffer lines better. I haven't used a plethora of spinning reels by any means, but I really like the way daiwa spools are shaped, and lay your line. Only one I have experience with is the Exceler, but I'd buy a teirra for advantge with out a second thought. Those particular models also have water proof drags. And at the price tackle warehouse has them, I'd really consider em.
