I would go with the 704, good all around rod and not too light for jigs.

I think now Im going to get the 733 cef and use it for my soft plastics and spinnerbaits and get a seperate setup for jigs later. Will this rod be good for most all soft plastics and spinnerbaits even topwater?

That sounds like a good plan. I would get the 705 for jigs later. It will cover the heaviest jigs you will probably ever throw and will excel at 1/2oz jigs. The 733 will also handle any really light jigs. The pair together will cover a very wide range of baits. If you like the longer length of the 733, you could get a 735 instead of the 705.

I think the 733 might be better. IMO the 4 would work well for jigs, but not as well for soft plastics and definitely not senkos IMO. As long as you're not throwing jigs much over 1/2 oz, I think you'll be fine. But it'll really shine with 1/4 oz/ finesse jigs IMO. The extra length is a good plus fishing all of those.

If the Powell 733CEF fishes anything like the Dobyns Champion 733C, 3/8oz plus a trailer is the highest I'd go on it. But it excels as a plastics, senko, spinnerbait rod.

The 734 would make a great jig rod for later on. I should handle 1/4 to 1/2oz jigs easily, and probably more. The 735 (which is designated as their frog rod) might also be a good choice for jigs and frogs. The Endurance 725 or Endurance 775 might also be rods to look into for fishing heavy jigs or frogs in heavy cover.

If you get a 3 power and a 5 power, fast action rod, you should cut out the need for a 4 power and you will have more versatile set ups. You should be able to cover everything from spinnerbaits and Senko's to heavy jigs and 5"-6" swimbaits.

Talked with Powell and told them what I wanted to do, soft plastics texas rig, spinner baits, buzz baits, top water, and some smaller jigs, and they suggest the endurance 723 cef. I was going to go with the max 733 but after talking to them I am going to go with the 723 cef, what do yall think?

Either should work just fine, one is 7'3" and one is 7'2". The Endurance series may use a different blank but I'm not sure. It also has that purple water drop finish.

Other than looks the rods available, there is no difference between the Endurance and Max series rod. Either one should work fine; the Max will look better with your Curado though.

the guy told me that the 723 was a little stronger even though they were both 3 power. I do like the max and the way it looks with a curado. I have the 703 glass on a curado 200e5 and it looks great, I am not going to order until this weekend so I can think about it til then but it will be one of the two Im sure.
