A Few New Cranks

And a jerk bait. I have been working on some of the sales around and picked up some LCs here lately. I have caught a few fish on them and have been happy with there performance, especially in clear water. I got a few more in the ghost shad pattern and already got the gut wrenching of loosing one on a junk knot. All the cranks are the Clunn 1.5 silent series.




And a Yo-Zuri I won off of ebay. Close to the 1 Zooker gave me, but it runs about 2-3' deeper and has some kind of striping on it.

Those are some good looking cranks. I really like that ghost red craw. I've caught the LC fever too but I haven't bought any crankbaits yet, all jerkbaits and topwaters. I think the long stripe on the Zuri is supposed to represent the lateral line.

Good looking plugs! But that translucent one in the first pic sure looks like a rattler to me? Are they just casting ballast? I have been a shad rap & a Poes guy since the beginning and can't imagine a more effective crank, but I'm not opposed to trying something different. I just don't like rattling cranks.

Kenny, they are just weights, the only thing that rattles is the hooks jingling around.

Lucky Craft jerkbaits have glass and steel rattles in them. You can see them in the clear baits. I'm sure the glass gives off a different pitch.

A while back when I first bought one, I was hesitant to throw it in the wood for fear of loosing it. But I came to the realization that I bought them to fish. So if I loose them, so be it. But I have been catching fish on them when others are not, so that covers the cost for me. I would rather buy a few of these at 12-15/piece and have confidence , than a box full of others at 5-7/piece and haul water all day long. I am sold on the body etching in the baits reflect like real scales in high light and draw more strikes than the smooth bodied cranks. Don't get me mixed up though, I still have a place for Bandits, etc, but when the sun is high, no cloud clover, and clear water like I seem to always draw. They are definitely my new go to.

A good plug knocker and/or a pole type lure retreiver can probably save a good many of lures the get hung up. But with your reputation as an upper echelon, top shelf, el primo lure snagger - maybe not.

I have a yozuri just like that,but anymore tend to go for forgotten baits to purchase and toss.Heres my latest a cotton cordell Big o 6 in ,as most bass on ky lake are eating 5-6 in threadfin shad right now.
