Default Kenner boats?

How are they?

I was looking at a 1902 kenner bay boat for about $16,700.00

Is this a good deal? It's in great condition and has a 125 mercury 4 stroke...

I decided against a flats boat because I live too close to the ocean, and if I'm only getting one boat, I figured a bayboat would be more practical.

Wow! I didn't know Kenner was even in business in 1902. I hope the engine is a little newer, mebbe a 1905.

Seriously, Kenner's have a great reputation and many saltwater guys opt for 4-strokes. If you intend to remain in sheltered waters, maintain the engine scrupulously, and don't get out in the open stuff, you'll have a good rig.
BEFORE you lay down ANY $$$, however, have a certified mechanic inspect the entire rig, to include engine (signs of abuse, compression on ALL cylinders, seal leakage, etc.), hull (wiring and instruments, cracks, leaks, signs of abuse.), trailer (is it galvanized? Overall condition of frame, fittings, brakes and bearings, tires.) If all checks out well, then compare price with similarly set-up Kenners in the area. If all is "Go", then GO!
The NADA boat book can be a help too.
