holes drilled in boat
what is the best thing to use to help prevent rot? should i put some thing in the holes before i run a screw or bolt and will just regular silicone work.

I've been using 3M 5200 and had no trouble so far. Here's a chart of their products:

Bender gets the cookie on dis one. That stuff is the BEST there is. Silicone works but in time looses its grip and will alow water to seep in.

West Marine or HD. This stuff is AWESOME we used it on our offshore boat with no problems at all.
