The great ZOOK pretty well covered it but he did forget Watermelon candy. Works in clear, stained, muddy wherever you throw it. ONCE in awhile depending on conditions and time of year I get real crazy and throw a off the wall color called chartruse (helps me see the bait).

Throw a color you have confidence in. A hungry bass won't care what color it is. In all my years of fishing, I've caught almost all my bass on the color white. White spinnerbaits, white flukes.Do I think bass prefer white to other colors? No, but I enjoy using that color because of it's high visibility for me and I have all the confidence in the world in it. Confidence, confidence, confidence. That is the key to successfull bass fishing.

I agree with Chuck. I too have been fishing for a number of years and do have my favorite colors, but that dosen't mean that bass have their favorite colors, if bass did have their favorite color then Bass Pro Shops are doing something wrong, because the last time I was there I noticed every color under the sun was for sale. Altho I have caught bass on just about every color, but again it's like Chuck said its "confidence" in the color you choose to use that given day.

NC Yankee- Red Shad.... Zooker-June Bug WaterMelon or Shad....Laser-Chartruse....bassnton and rrw4258-Chartruse and Motor oil.....Chuck-White or color of your confidence....River stumps-Color of your confidence......JB-June Bug...Curado-Water Melon seed,Red shad, black neon... Are you still confused??? I would think that you are. Why don't you just take a worm of your choice atach it to a hook and go fishing. That's the best way that you are going to learn. Try different ways and methods. I'm sure all thes fisherman mean well. But I do believe that if you do this you will learn more and probably catch a lunker while trying it your way. Good luck.

Skeeter944 had asked about the color to use in stained/murky water. He said he had heard many opinions and wanted ours. Well, opinions he got. Only to be expected. Yes, there is too much emphasis put on color and brand and size but we're all individualists and that's what makes all of our opinions interesting. I'm sure everyone here would agree with your philosophy though. Welcome!

go with what you feel best, confidence, maybe the most important part in fishing, not just in the bait, color, brand ect,but in yourself

Well as usual lots of opinons, but I do know that whatever color you fish with the most, will be the color you catch the most fish with LOL. I prefer darker colors period, whether it's clear or murky, or down right muddy. The exception would be chartreuse, and white, espeicially with any baitfish imitator, such as spinners, cranks. With flukes I really like any color of shad variation. Senkosam best put it like this, fish see in shades, not colors. So a pink, could be the same shade as a light green under certain circumstances, or even a chartreusse. Because again it's a shade not a color, especially when you fish deeper and colors disappear altogether anyway. My favorite colors for worms/lizards/creature baits etc, are Black, Green Pumpkin, and Junebug. However I know all the other colors will work, as I have caught fish on just about every color out there.

Lizards
