Default sufix elite and trilene xl

Got a question how does #12 elite compare to trilene xl #14 ? I bought some sufix elite #14 and to me its as durable as xl #17...So is it safe to say sufix elite #12 would compare to trilene xl #14 ? Reason I ask is ,its seems the elite #14 does not cast as far as trilene xl #14... Wondering if I can get away with #12 elite fishing my t.rig rod, mainly open water ?

Compare their line diameters as opposed to their #test rating. This should give you a better idea. Open water? You could get away with 8# test.

This I know lol.

I have three spools here in hand.

XL #14 .014"
XL #17 .015"
Elite #14 .015"

edit:just checked the sufix site they say there #12 Elite is .014"

Guess I need to run down to wally world and pick up some elite #12 and give it a whirl.

I like the #14 that I have just trying to get a few more feet out of my cast , the #12 should do the trick.

Wally world has a sale on the Elite. I don't know if the 12-14 on sale, but I was out of town and they had it on sale a a wally world there too so I'm guessing it's nation wide or something. I know they have 6,8, and 10 on sale- 330yds for $5.00. Awsome deal.

BTW, I’ve used the 17lb XL and Elite as well as 8lb Elite and 10-17 XL. They’re both very supple and comparable to each other. It’s like splitting hairs honestly.
