Gas Station Sighting
On my way back home Discovery Channels "SRV Dominator" vehicle was fueling up behind me at a gas station in Virginia. It's a 2007 Tahoo with an external roll cage that is plated with steel and all kinds of equipment. The external steel is on a hydraulic system that lowers it to the ground so that it doesn't allow air to get beneath the veh when the tornado is approaching. Very cool to see and driven by 2 pretty cool.... and crazy.... guys. They said the new season starts Sunday and they actually have had this vehicle in 4 tornados!

Those guys are nuts. I got caught inside an F2 tornado in a much-less armored Dodge Dakota, and I can tell you I have no interest whatsoever in ever doing a repeat event. I would skydive before I did that.

hehehe... NoFear, you sound like a man that has a healthy respect for staying inside a perfectly good airplane same as me. I'd stroke out on the first step out.

wow, thats so funny cause i've been sick and watching the discovery, military and history channels for the past couple of days and i've always wanted to be a chaser and saw that show, and thought how cool it'd be to see their chase vehicle in person

Yeah, in most places, for a custom to be street legal, you just need safety belts, turn signals, brake and head lights, front and rear bumpers of some sort, and pass a standard safety inspection to prove good working order. The funny thing is, I see a lot of people driving cars made in Detroit that don't meet those requirements.

yeah i remember when my buddy took the bed off his s10 and he took 2 steel rods and screwed his tail lights to it and the frame and he had them sticking up in the air so it was street legal

Yeah, I had a neighbor who once put pieces of 4 x 4 lumber on his POS Jeep CJ as front and rear bumpers.

Heck, wood bumpers ain't nuthin...My cousin couldn't find airshocks that would jack the rear of his Vega wagon high enough for him to put some oversized tires on the back so he removed the rear shocks and coil springs and installed a couple of 4X4's between the frame and rear end....lol.....talk about southern engineering....hehehe...that thang road like a log wagon, and everytime you turned a corner you could fishtail it without even trying....probably wasn't considered street legal but back then nobody cared.....it looked cool though...all jacked up with some Mickey Thompson 50's on the rear....lol

Hehe, I've never seen an automobile warranty that covered termite damage. Maybe just a southern thing.
