Default Smith Mountain 1st trip

Well Saturday i am heading to SML for first time this year. Time to cut back on the James River smalmouth for awhile. Here is were i am asking for help.
I generally have 5 rods on deck rigged up.
4 baitcasting 1 spinning.
spinning rod usually has big bite worm or centipede.
The other 4 are a mixture of spinner bait (swin jig which i will try for 1st time this year)
PBJ jig with green pumpkin trailer
maybe a lipless carnkbait.
maybe this time of year a jerkbait.
always have a topwater tied on.
What i would like feedback on is any suggestions for this time of year and which of these rods would you grab first.
I have a terrible problem with staying with the spinning rod too much and need to be more versatile.

Centipede on a slider head is a good choice
Spinnerbait too
Unless water is over 60 I wouldn't have topwater. I'd bring one or two baits but not have one tied on.

Yes he did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd be throwing search baits to get a strike & then slow it down...I'd really be partial to a lure similar to the above...I saw that episode of bassmasters & found some baits that are similar but not as expensive & they have produced for me...bass pro has Storm's wild eyed shiner with a treble on the bottom & a single hook on the top.. found it in a golden shiner color...the bass in my area hammer it. good luck as we just had a cold front come thru early this AM.
